About the Seminar

Research is a logical and systematic venture to create new knowledge and widen the basis for informed practices. It is not limited to technology only, rather it is a powerful device for ensuring quality concerns and parameters for other disciplines. Research methodology is necessary in sociology as it provides legitimacy and wider acceptance to the sociological work. Different methods are used for different purposes of research like Positivist research or Interpretivist research.

About the College

Dhirendra Mahila P.G College provides an environment conducive for the students to develop into creative individuals. Dhirendra Mahila P.G College affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, is an answer to the need of a college for girls in Varanasi. 7.5 km straight drive from Varanasi Cantt. Station, the college focuses on academic, intellectual and cultural development of its students such that they face the challenges of today with a base firmly rooted in India’s cultural heritage. DMPG has grown since its inception for its academic excellence synergizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the emerging fields of humanities and social sciences, management and technology with a close social and industrial interface. We at this Institution, envision the holistic development of our students into vibrant professionals, conscious of human values and eco- friendly environment and competent in skills. About the Department

The Sociology Department at DMPGC offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Diverse topics are covered in different areas in which faculties are specialized. The skills gained in sociology can be transferred to diverse job settings. Such “crossover skills” include a knowledge of the workings of society, the ability to analyze social problems and to communicate these analyses to others, and interpersonal relations, as well as written and verbal communication, research methods, and analytical techniques.
